Privacy Policy

This page explains what data Babbycare collects, what our third-party partners (Google, Amazon, Resend, Cloudflare) collect, and how you can control or remove that data. We try to write this in plain English. If anything is unclear, email us at hello@babbycare.com.

What we collect directly

• Email address (only if you subscribe). Stored in Cloudflare KV, used to send the weekly Couple Note. We never sell, rent, or share it.
• Aggregate page-view data. Cloudflare's edge logs each request (URL, country, user-agent, timestamp). This is server-side and does not require cookies.
• Cookie consent choice. If you click "Accept" or "Decline" on the cookie banner, that choice is stored in your browser's localStorage so we don't ask again.

What our advertising partners collect (Google AdSense)

Babbycare displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to:

• Serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites
• Measure ad performance (impressions, clicks)
• Detect ad fraud
• Personalize ads when you have given consent

If you accepted on the cookie banner, Google receives signals that personalized ads are permitted; if you declined, Google still serves ads but only non-personalized ones. You can review or change your choice anytime by clearing your browser's storage for babbycare.com — the banner will reappear on your next visit.

Google's specific privacy practices are documented at Google's advertising privacy page. You can opt out of personalized advertising network-wide at aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU).

What our affiliate partners collect (Amazon Associates and others)

When you click an Amazon affiliate link on Babbycare, Amazon places a cookie that identifies us as the referring site. If you complete a purchase within Amazon's cookie window (typically 24 hours), Amazon shares purchase information with us at the aggregate level — we see "1 sale of $X" rather than "you bought Y." We never receive your name, email, or address.

The same applies to other affiliate programs we may use (Talkspace, Saatva, etc.) when we link to their sites. Each program's privacy policy governs what data they collect on their side. We name the programs we participate in on our Affiliate Disclosure page.

What our email provider collects (Resend)

Welcome emails and the weekly Couple Note are sent through Resend, an email-API service. Resend logs delivery status (sent, opened, bounced) per email. They do not send marketing on their own behalf or share your address with anyone.

Cookies on Babbycare

The cookies and similar storage on this site fall into three categories:

• Strictly necessary. Cookie consent choice (localStorage), session continuity for the subscribe form. These do not require consent under most laws because they are required for the site to work.
• Analytics. Currently we do not run third-party analytics with cookies. Cloudflare provides server-side aggregate data only.
• Advertising. Google AdSense cookies as described above. These are off by default until you accept on the banner.

Your rights

Regardless of where you live, you can:

• Email hello@babbycare.com to ask what data we have on you
• Email the same address to ask us to delete it (typically the only piece is your subscriber email)
• Reply to any newsletter with the word "stop" to unsubscribe immediately

Under GDPR (EU/UK), you also have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. The legal basis for our email processing is your consent (your subscribe action).

Under CCPA / CPRA (California), you have the right to know, delete, and opt out of "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, email us.

Children's privacy

Babbycare is written for adults — specifically new-parent couples. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, email us and we'll delete it the same day.

Data retention

Subscriber emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Cloudflare edge logs are retained for ~30 days. Resend retains delivery logs for 30 days. Google and Amazon manage their own retention per their respective policies.

Updates to this policy

If we change anything material — adding a new third party, changing what we collect — we'll update the date at the top of this page and, if the change is significant, send a note about it in the next Couple Note email.
